Ever since I started buying produce from a local co-op last year, I've wanted to start canning so that I make sure to use all of my beautiful fruits & veggies without wasting anything. I've done the research & read some books to help get me started. I have a couple of the necessary tools but not everything. I was really excited to get the chance to test & review this Bellemain 6 Piece Canning Tool Set so that I would have a complete set!
I love that this set of tools is red! I love the bright colors & it makes them easy to find in my kitchen utensil drawer that can get quite cluttered. Everything that I need to get started on my canning adventure is included in this box: a wide-mouth funnel, tongs, bubble popper measuring stick, magnetic lid lifter, jar lifter & lid remover wrench.
All of these tools are sturdy and well-made. The magnet is strong enough to lift the lids with no problem. In the past, I've made jam several times but never had any of these tools. The jar lifter makes getting the jars out of the processing pot so much easier & less chance of getting burned. I'm really happy with this set & will put it to a lot of good use.
This 6 Piece Canning Set is available on Amazon for only $9.95! That's a lot less than the sets I was looking at in some of our local big box stores. If you have been wanting to start canning, or maybe you could just use an extra set of canning tools, this set is perfect.
