MeasuPro Instant Read Waterproof IPX7 Thermometer Review #MeasuPro

I have been cooking for more years than I want to confess but I've never owned or used a thermometer in the kitchen. I never even really thought much about it, I just cook food for the time specified in a recipe or cut into a piece of meat to make sure it's cooked the way we like it. So I was happy to try the MeasuPro Instant Read Waterproof IPX7 Thermometer.

The first thing that I did was to read the instructions on the back of the package. Now, this is the only thing that I would change about this product: the instructions are written in white on a light gray background so they are difficult to read. Black print would have been so much easier. But the instructions are easy to understand & I was ready to try this thermometer in no time.

The thermometer comes with a button cell battery already installed so it's ready to use right out of the packaging. All you have to do is press the power button & it immediately lights up the digital display. You can choose between Centigrade & Fahrenheit readings. The digital display is large & easy to read. If no buttons have been pressed after 10 minutes, the thermometer will automatically turn itself off to save the battery life.

I tried this thermometer in various ways to test accuracy. I used it to tell the ambient temperature of my home, the temperature of my freezer & refrigerator, in boiling water & everything else that I could think of. Since I knew what the temperatures of each of these were, I could tell right away that this thermometer reads accurately. And the temps show up really quickly on the display. In 6 seconds, just like the product information states.

The probe has a plastic cover that can also be used as an extended handle. Just slide the clip on the cover onto the metal holder on the back of the thermometer & you've got a handle! It's really handy!

So. Here is what I think about the MeasuPro Instant Read Waterproof IPX7 Thermometer: I can't believe that I've never used a thermometer in my kitchen before! I like that I no longer have to depend on the "cut it & look" method to make sure meat is not undercooked or overcooked. I like that this thermometer is waterproof & can be easily cleaned. I like that it turns itself off so that I don't have to remember to do that.

And I really like that the digital display is large & easy enough to read that I don't even need my glasses to see it!

So. Bottom line. If you're looking for a thermometer that is reliable & easy to use, this one won't disappoint. It is lightweight & compact enough to fit into your apron pocket.
