I have colored my hair for more years than I can remember & have tried a lot of products over the years. Now thanks to being chosen by Crowdtap to sample Garnier Color Sensation, I'm trying a new hair color product.

I chose to try 6.3 Light Golden Brown which is different from the color that I have used for the last few months. This product advertises "Rick color & silky shine from root to tip", "100% gray coverage" and "No mess, non-drip cream formula" on the front of the box. The gray coverage feature is what I am looking for in a hair color. It has gotten to the point that I have to color my hair once a month to keep my gray roots from showing.

This products comes a brush to make applying the color to much easier & I know that I didn't miss any spots. Since I was changing my hair color, I used the Full Head application. The instructions say to leave the color on for 25 minutes. I am happy to say that this product doesn't have a bad smell & didn't make my eyes water like some others that I have used in the past. After 25 minutes, I washed out the color & used the After Color Conditioner that is included in the box. My hair came out looking great & feeling soft! I didn't get the exact color shown on the box but I like it.

I am a big fan of Aveeno products so I was really happy to be chosen by Crowdtap to sample the Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Lotion and the Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash.

My Crowdtap Kit arrived & there were 2 samples of the each product so I was able to share some with friends so they could experience these products along with me.

The lotion is silky white with a fresh coconut scent. It glides on smoothly & absorbs into my skin quickly without any greasy or sticky feeling. My skin feels soft & smooth immediately & the scent is subtle but makes me think of summer.

The body wash is also white with the same fresh coconut scent. It lathers well & rinses off cleanly. My skin feels great when I get out of the shower. After my skin is dry, I apply the lotion so the lovely scent is layered so it will last longer.

I have somewhat sensitive combination skin but I have not experienced any irritation or redness while using these products. I just have soft & smooth skin!

I already use several Aveeno products & have already purchased full-size bottles of each of these products so I can continue using them.

Crowdtap Sampling: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF30

I am a big fan of Aveeno products so I was really happy to be chosen by Crowdtap to sample the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF30.

My Crowdtap Kit arrived & there were 3 samples of the Daily Moisturizer so I was able to share some with friends so they could experience this product along with me.

This moisturizer is a silky lightweight lotion with a fresh clean scent. It glides on smoothly & absorbs into my skin quickly without any greasy or sticky feeling. I have somewhat sensitive combination skin but I have not experienced any irritation or redness while using this product. I just have soft & smooth skin!

I have only had this product for 5 days so I can't say that it has improved my skin tone or texture because I haven't used it long enough, but I will definitely purchase the full-size product so I can continue using it. I really like that it contains a broad spectrum SPF30 sunscreen because here in Texas it is sunny even in the shade!

I don't usually wear nail polish on my fingernails though I sometimes paint them with a clear coat or a "barely there" color. I've never tried press-on nails before because I thought they would just look fake, but I was provided two sets of imPRESS Press-On Manicure nails to try for myself & when I saw these nails in the package they looked nice so I was ready to give them a try.

I got one set in Symphony & one set in Tweetheart. The Symphony set has 24 pink nails plus 6 gold & white accent nails. The Tweetheart set has 24 bright red nails plus 2 heart-shaped sparkle accents. Both sets come with a prep pad & a nail file. Since I'm used to either no polish or very subdued polish on my nails, I wasn't sure how I would like these colors but I decided to just go for it! 

I washed & dried my hands completely before I got started. I decided to try the pink nails so I opened the package & spread them out so I could pick the sizes that I wanted for each nail. I wiped each of my nails with the prep pad, made sure they were dry & then started applying the nails. It's very easy to do: peel the plastic off the back of the nail, line it up with your nail & press down. I used the glitter accent nails on my ring fingers & pink nails on all of the rest, leaving my thumbs until last as suggested in the directions. The whole process didn't even take 10 minutes! 

Unlike regular nail polish, there is no drying time with these press-on nails. Just be sure to wait at least 30 minutes before getting them wet. I liked the way they looked as soon as I was finished applying the nails, but it took a lot of getting used to for me. I could feel that there was something on my nails but after a couple of days I no longer thought about it or noticed them. After wearing them for a week, it was very easy to peel them off (because a couple of them had started to loosen around the edges) without any damage to my real nails. I'm saving the bright red nails to wear when we celebrate our wedding anniversary. 

These press-on nails are not reusable but there are enough nails for 2 manicures or you can mix & match them with other colors from other sets. These are available at your local chain drugstores, grocery stores, Walmart & Target. For around $7, it's a lot cheaper (and faster) than getting a salon manicure!

Crowdtap Sampling: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush

I was picked by Crowdtap to sample the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush! I don't wear a lot of makeup but blush is one of my favorite beauty products. There was a choice of shades & I chose Bronzed because I don't want pink cheeks, just a healthy natural look.

My mission kit arrived & I got my first look at the blush. I knew right away that I would love the shade that I chose & I couldn't wait to give it a try.

I think that it gives my cheeks a natural healthy glow without looking like I'm wearing a lot of makeup. It glides on smoothly & blends in nicely with my skin tone. The blush lasts all day & I love the way it looks & feels.

This blush is available in several shades: Rosy (10), Vibrant (20), Flushed (30), Bronzed (40) & Luminous (50). Bronzed is advertised as a Bronzer, but it works perfectly as a blush.

I'm very happy with this product & I will definitely be looking to purchase more when this is gone.

Product Review: Faces Beautiful Brush-On Liquid Mineral Makeup #facesbeautiful

I love trying new makeup products. I've tried a lot & some of them were just not for me but others I have loved & still use. This Faces Beautiful Brush-On Liquid Mineral Makeup is definitely one that I love!

When I was chosen to review this product, I admit that I was a bit skeptical at first because I was only given 3 choices of colors. How can only 3 colors work for everyone? But I looked at the descriptions & made my choice. I chose Radiant Beige because it is recommended if your skin is a bit sallow. The other choices were Healthy Nude, for those with excess pink in their skin, & Sun Glow, for those whose skin is very tan or Indian/Hispanic-toned. Then I waited for the makeup to arrive & hoped that it matched my skin tone.

This liquid mineral makeup comes in a 1 fluid ounce tube with the brush attached. You just turn the base of the brush until it clicks & then it is open so that the makeup can flow into the brush to be applied. I've never had a makeup applicator quite like this! The brush feels soft & thick so applying the makeup to my face is really easy. It spreads nicely & because it is a mineral makeup it feels dry right away. It feels so lightweight on my skin & looks like I'm not wearing makeup at all. And I love that it lasts all day!

This all-in-one makeup with applicator is perfect to drop in your makeup bag when you're going out in case you need a touch-up. And you don't have to take a makeup brush or sponge or use your fingers because everything you need is right there in one tube.

Product Review: Kabuki Yachiyo Brush #KabukiYachiyoBrush

I own a couple of makeup brushes but nothing like this Kabuki Yachiyo Brush! It is made with natural bristles & they feel so soft on my face & the wrapped handle feels very sturdy so it should last for a long time.

I don’t do a lot of contouring in my daily makeup routine but this brush would work very well for that. I do use foundation & blush so I’ve been using this brush instead of my regular brushes. It picks up just enough of the product & I like the way the soft bristles spread it lightly across my face. I feel like I’m being pampered every time I apply my makeup!

I’ve not had a big problem with this brush shedding like some of the cheaper brushes. A few of the bristles came loose the first couple of times I used the brush but I expected that & after I cleaned the brush no more bristles have shed.

Product Review: Best Natural Sunscreen #aveyanaturalsunscreen Daily Facial Cleansing Pads #aveyafacialpads Niacinamide + Vitamin B3 Serum #aveyabeauty

I recently received 3 skincare products from Aveya Beauty, a company whose products I had not tried before. I researched the company & found out that they are a US company based in Miami, Florida. Let me tell you about their products:

The first product that I tried is the Oria Natural Sunscreen. This is a SPF 35+ broad spectrum moisturizing sunscreen made with Borage Seed Oil. According to the packaging, borage seed oil is used to treat many conditions including eczema, arthritis & inflammation. It comes in a 1 fluid ounce amber glass pump container. It is a slightly thick white cream that doesn't really have any scent. I've used it several times when I was going to be outdoors for an afternoon. It saved my skin from a sunburn but I do also try to stay in the shade as much as possible because I have fair skin that can sunburn easily without taking extra precautions. The only thing that I don't like about this product is that it takes a lot of rubbing to get the white cream to disappear. This sunscreen is 100% natural, non-toxic & sensitive skin friendly so it is safe for your entire family.

The second product that tried is the Daily Facial Cleansing Pads. When I received this product, I thought that it was going to be a cleansing pad that I would use every day to get my face clean of dirt & oil. But the packaging indicates that it is "Peel Optimizing Pads" & the directions say to use them AFTER cleansing & drying your face to prepare your face for a chemical peel. Since I don't ever use a chemical peel on my skin, I've been using them after I wash & dry my face just to get rid of anything that may be left on my skin. They have a slight astringent scent but I have not experience any redness or irritation from using them on my somewhat sensitive skin. It dries fairly quickly without any sticky feeling.

I also tried the Niacinamide + Vitamin B3 Serum which is designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, improve firmness & elasticity, even skin tone & repair damage. It comes in a 1/2 fluid ounce frosted glass bottle with a dropper. The serum is a bit thicker than water & has no scent. It absorbs quickly into my skin with no greasy feeling. I have not had any adverse reactions from this serum. I've been using it for a few weeks & my skin is soft & smooth but it's too soon to be able to see any long term benefits. This is a small bottle so I don't think it will last anywhere close to the 6 months like the company advertises.

I love to try a new skincare product & I was really excited to try this one because it has flecks of gold in the bottle! It is XANADU 24K Gold Vitamin C Serum.

This Vitamin C Serum comes in a 1 fluid ounce pump container packaged inside an exotic looking box. This serum is formulated with a combination of botanical ingredients, high tech science & 24K real gold! It is designed to moisturize, reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, even your skin tone, repair sun damage & give you a golden youthful glow.

I use this at least once each day & sometimes twice. I use it every morning after I have cleansed my face & applied my toner. I pump the bottle twice onto the palm of my hand, rub my palms together & apply it to my face & neck areas. As it absorbs into my skins, the gold flecks disappear. It makes my skin feel very soft without leaving a greasy or sticky feeling & I love the subtle rose scent. I haven't used this product long enough to see any of the anti-aging results yet but it has brightened my skin.

Product Reviews: Camellia Oil Moisturizer AND Tamanu Oil from BEAUTYOILS.CO #beautyoils

I find that as I'm getting older, I prefer using oils rather than lotions or creams on my skin. And I'm always happy to discover new oils. These two oils that I received from BEAUTYOILS.CO are both new to me so I was happy to get to review them.

The first oil that I received is the Camellia Oil Moisturizer. This oil is also known as Tsubaki oil & has been used in Japan for centuries. This oil is rich in Omega-9 fatty acids as well as Vitamin E, plant collagens & proteins. It is designed to moisturize both skin & hair. The only ingredient in this oil is 100% Pure cold-pressed Camellia Oil.

This clear oil comes in a 2 fluid ounce amber plastic bottle with a press top. I am using this oil as a moisturizer for my skin, not just on my face but also on my hands, arms, legs & feet. The oil absorbs quickly into my skin & has no scent. It softens & smooths my skin without any oily feeling. I use it first thing every morning & again at night just before I go to bed.

The other oil that I received is Tamanu Oil. This oil comes from the South Pacific where it is well known for its skin healing properties. This oil has anti-inflammatory, antifungal & antioxidant properties. It can be used for bug bites & stings, sunburns, minor cuts & scrapes as well as helping to heal scars & areas prone to stretch marks. The only ingredient in this oil is 100% Pure cold-pressed Tamanu Nut Oil.

This light green oil (kind of looks like olive oil) comes in a 2 fluid ounce amber glass bottle. I have used this oil on a couple of old scars, to help sunburn & on bug bites. My sunburned skin was relieved more quickly with this oil than with the gel that I had been using & the itchiness from the bug bites was quickly lessened. The oil absorbs quickly & has an earthy scent which I really like.

I have somewhat sensitive skin but have not experienced any irritation from using either of these oils. They are both paraben-free, petroleum-free & cruelty-free.

Product Review: Fresh Richie Body Wipes for Men by Luxury Barber #bodywipes

I almost always have a package of wipes in my bathroom cupboard & I not only use them at home but I take them with me when we got to festivals or flea markets or any other outdoor activity where we get hot & uncomfortable. But until now, the only wipes that we've used are either baby wipes or facial cleansing wipes. Now, I'm okay with these but my husband isn't really thrilled to use products that are designed for babies or women. But now he has these Fresh Richie Body Wipes for Men from Luxury Barber & he is much happier!

These body wipes come in a nice looking black box with the logo on the front. Inside of the box are 10 individually packaged towelettes. This makes it easy to grab a few to put in a gym bag or backpack when you're on the go. There's no reason for not smelling & feeling fresh!

I gave these to my husband to try. He said that they have a very subtle minty scent but that it doesn't leave that scent on his skin. He said they feel cool & refreshing without leaving his skin wet or sticky. These body wipes can be used on any part of his body & are sturdy so they don't tear or fall apart. They are also flushable. He likes these wipes so much that I tried one myself & they are so much better than baby wipes!

Product Review: Facial Cleaning Brush #sonicbrush

I used a facial cleaning brush several years ago but it just made my skin red & I didn’t feel like it cleaned very well. This MIRA Sonic Facial Cleaning Brush is nothing like that one!

This Facial Cleaning Brush runs on 2 AA batteries which are not included. Getting the battery compartment open was hard to do & that is the only thing about this cleaning brush that I did not like. The brush runs on two frequencies. Press the power button once for low frequency & press it again for high frequency & it will automatically shut off after 60 seconds. This unit is water resistant so it is safe to use in the shower.

I have somewhat sensitive combination skin & this cleaning brush does a good job of gentle exfoliation. The bristles are super soft & leave my face feeling clean & fresh without causing any redness or irritation. I use this brush twice each week & my skin looks & feels really good. I really love this facial cleaning brush & it is great for all skin types.

Product Review: Exfoliating & Clarifying UltraMUD Treatment from VIA Cosmedics #viacosmedics

I like to use mud masks, cleansing masks & hydrating masks. But I've never had a mask quite like this Exfoliating & Clarifying UltraMUD Treatment from VIA Cosmedics.

This treatment comes in a 2 fluid ounce tub with a silver top. It has wonderful ingredients like Cucumber Extract, Green Tea Extract, Chamomile Extract, Comfrey Extract & Tea Tree Oil. This mud treatment is unlike any I've ever used before. You will notice when you open the top that it needs to be stirred because it does contain Tea Tree Oil.

The first week that I used this mud treatment, I only left it on my face for about 3 minutes each time. It did sting a bit that first week because of the Tea Tree Oil but it isn't a bad stinging, just enough to let me know that it was working. After I washed it off, my skin felt so clean & fresh! Since then, I've worked up to leaving the treatment on my face longer. I now leave it on for up to 10 minutes & I don't notice the sting any more. I love the way it makes my skin look & feel. I use it 2 or 3 times a week & follow with a light moisturizer. If you have extremely sensitive skin, this is probably not for you.
