Deluxe Diamond Knife Sharpener Review PLUS Giveaway! #kitchengadgets

I've been looking for a new kitchen knife set for a couple of months now. I just haven't found the perfect set yet. So in the meantime, every time I complain that one of my old knives isn't sharp enough, my husband takes the knife out to his work shed in the backyard & comes back with a sharpened knife. I don't know what he does, I just know that I'd rather be able to sharpen my knives myself in the kitchen. This Deluxe Diamond Knife Sharpener lets me do that!

This knife sharpener is really easy to use. Just make sure that it is on a flat surface & that the knife you want to sharpen is clean. There are directions on the box for Stage 1 Coarse Sharpening & Stage 2 Fine Sharpening. If you're sharpening a dull knife, start with Stage 1 for sharpening & then proceed to Stage 2 for polishing. If your knife is not so dull, go ahead & start with Stage 2.

This knife sharpener has a handle for you to hold while you are sharpening a knife that makes it easier to operate & makes sure that the sharpener doesn't move around while in use. You can see the 2 different sharpening slots in the photo below, one for coarse & one for fine. I sharpened our knives with no problem at all & it's so much nicer & easier to use them now.

So. Here is what I think about the Deluxe Diamond Knife Sharpener: I love that I can sharpen my knives so easily & will not have to go through the expense of replacing them now. I like that it is just as easy to sharpen a really dull knife as it is to sharpen one that is not in such bad shape. I like that the handle helps me to steady the sharpener so that I can use it with no worries. I like that it is easy to clean this sharpener with a damp cloth (do not rinse it with water!).

Spiral Ninja Review PLUS Giveaway! #SpiralNinja

I recently received this fun new gadget to try out in my kitchen. I usually just use a veggie peeler if I want thin shreds of veggies or I just chop or dice them. The Spiral Ninja is a spiral slicer for veggies & is so easy to use!

This spiral slicer comes in a storage bag with a drawstring top. It also comes with a handy little cleaning brush. It's really easy to clean the slicer with the brush under running water but it is also top-rack dishwasher safe.

Using this slicer is so simple! It has two blades to choose from for different julienne sizes. The first thing I tried was carrots. Just hold the slicer in one hand & insert the carrot or other veggie of your choice into the end of the slicer. Now just twist the veggie like a pencil in a pencil sharpener & the spirals will start to appear on your plate. When it starts getting shorter, use the cap to continue spiraling. The last 1.5" of my carrots would not go into the slicer so I just ate them!

This is a fun way to add more veggies to your meals. And it's a kind of sneaky way to get your kids to eat more veggies without realizing it because they look like pasta noodles!

So. Here is what I think about the Spiral Ninja: I like that this gadget is so much fun to use! I like that it is made of sturdy food-safe ABS plastic with quality stainless steel blades. I like that it is easy to clean & compact enough to fit into my kitchen utensil drawer. And I love the little Ninja on the storage bag!

Westminster Wall Clock, London (UK) Edition Review + GIVEAWAY! #Homaste

We moved into our house just over 5 years ago & I will admit that I'm not the best at making decisions about home decor. I love too much stuff! So I can never decide what I want on my walls. I've got photos, artwork & wall hangings but I've never put up a clock. I've looked at a LOT of clocks but just never could decide which one was THE one. So I jumped on the opportunity to review this Westminster Wall Clock, London (UK) Edition because I loved the look of it.

I don't really know what my decorating "style" is. I just want my home to be comfortable, casual & welcoming. So I buy things that I love to look at, make me happy & at least fit with the colors that are already in the room. And I like that way this clock looks!

It has a big over-sized face with Roman numerals that are very easy to see, even from the other side of the room. It has beautiful Victorian details. The face is made of glass & the case looks like wood but is actually a very lightweight material that is painted to look like wood. I was really surprised when I unwrapped it & felt how light it really is. It looks like it would be much heavier. But that's the great part! I don't need any heavy-duty hanger to put this clock on the wall. It can be hung with just a nail & anchor if you're hanging it on sheetrock. If you're nailing it into a stud, then all you need is the nail. Hanging instructions are included in the box.

Okay. Now is when I admit that my clock is not yet on the wall. We're repainting our living room so I am waiting until that project is finished to find the perfect place to hang it. Right now it is just propped up on the top of our piano. But it still looks great!

I really love the look of the clock face (sorry, that's the reflection of our ceiling fan in the photo). It's a warm beige instead of stark white like so many clocks that I've looked at. The hands & case are nicely detailed. It runs on 1 AA battery (not included) & is easy to set with a dial on the back of the clock. It has a nice quiet "tick" that is really quite comforting but not noticeable unless the house is quiet.

So. Here is what I think about the Westminster Wall Clock, London (UK) Edition: I think this is a beautiful clock. It is a really nice size & is going to look even better once it's actually on my wall! I love the design & style even though I don't have another Victorian piece in my home. It just blends in with my colors & makes me feel happy when I look at it.

This cream goes on smoothly & has just a faint floral scent which is really nice. It absorbs quickly & does not feel sticky or greasy. I have somewhat sensitive combination skin & the last thing I want is to use a product that makes my face oily. This one does not. It makes my skin feel smooth & soft. As of the time that I am writing this, I've only been using this cream for a week so I'm not seeing drastic results yet, nor did I expect to in this short time. But my skin definitely feels more hydrated & not dry from the effects of the dry winter air.

Some will see results from this product in as little as 2 weeks, but most will experience results after about 4 weeks of use & some not until 10 or 12 weeks. Everyone's skin is different & so everyone will not have the same results. But you will see them if you continue using this cream!
