Product Review: CREE Super Bright Rechargeable LED Searchlight by WASING

We have lots of flashlights but most of them run on regular batteries so it seems like every time we need to use one, the batteries are dead. I wanted this CREE Rechargeable Searchlight from Wasing because I knew my husband would like it.

This product is Made in China but I guess the company has changed it’s packaging because the box that I got was entirely in English as are the instructions. When this light arrived & I took it out of the box, I thought it looked pretty much like some others that my husband owns but then I started checking it out & found that it really is very different. The light looks like it will be heavy but it is really quite lightweight. It comes with a shoulder strap so that will be handy when we go camping. I really like that this light recharges by plugging it into a regular electric outlet & that the cord stores inside the battery compartment.

The handle on this light has notches for your fingers which makes it comfortable to hold & the on/off switch is right on the handle where it is easy to use. When you want to change the brightness of the light or use the strobe mode, you just have to lightly touch the button but you do have to press all the way down to turn it on or off. The button is white but changes to red while the light is charging & then changes to green when it is fully charged. The box shows that charging time is 8-10 hours but my light came fully charged & we haven’t had to recharge it yet. There is also an adjustable stand on the bottom of the light that can be used to direct the light where you need it for hands-free operation. There is also a really bright (I was looking right at it when I turned it on!) emergency light on the stand that operates with a toggle on/off switch.

This searchlight really lights up the night! It shines a very long distance & has a broader halo than any of the other lights that we own. It has also been really useful while working on the car & other projects around our house. It is definitely the light that we will pack when we go on vacations or camping trips.

I use essential oils for many purposes every day & diffusing them is one way that helps my family stay healthy. I have used this Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Mist Humidifier from Seneo almost every day since I have had it.

This diffuser comes with a power cord, measuring cup & User Manual. Just take the top off of the diffuser, fill it with water without going over the fill line, add you favorite essential oils, put the top back on, plug it in & you’re ready to go. There are buttons on the front of the unit to turn on the misting & the lights. WIth the Mist button, you can choose to run the unit for 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours or continuous spraying as well as choosing between light & heavy misting. With the Light button, you can choose to have the lights cycle automatically through all of the colors or choose just one color plus choosing the brightness of the light or not to have light at all. I like that I can run the mist without having the light on because I sometimes use this on my bedside table at night & don’t want extra light that will keep me awake. When this unit is running, it is completely silent so I’m glad that it turns itself off automatically when it runs out of water.

When I use this unit in the bedroom, it only takes 2-3 drops of essential oil to fill the room with scent but when I use it the living room it takes more because it’s a bigger space. How much you use will also depend on the strength of the scent that you choose.

Product Review: 6-Piece Egyptian Cotton Towel Set by Amor & Amore

I’m one of those people who keeps towels until they are worn out before I will replace them. We are really happy to have this 6-piece Egyptian Cotton towel set by Amor & Amore.

I chose the Navy Blue towel set but they are also available in Ivory and Gray. This set comes with 2 big bath towels (30"x56"), 2 hand towels (18"x30") & 2 washcloths (13"x13"). 

The towels are very thick & very absorbent. The first time that I washed them, they did shed quite a bit in the washer but I did not follow the specific washing instructions. The tag says to wash in cold water on the delicate cycle & hang to dry. I washed them with a load of clothes in warm water on the regular cycle & then put them in the dryer on low heat. 

The colors did not run in the wash & they dried fairly quickly in the dryer. After being laundered, they came out feeling just as soft as they were when I received them.

This towel set looks great in my bathroom & I will be putting a few of my old towels in the rag box to use for washing the car & other outside chores.

I love jigsaw puzzles! I always have. I love to put them together, take them apart & put them together again. And again. And again. So I couldn't wait for my 500-Piece Maui Jigsaw Puzzle and Wall Calendar Bundle to arrive!

When it arrived, I was very impressed with the packaging. The puzzle comes inside of a flip-top storage box that is covered in a map design with the company logo of the top. The box is inside of a colorful sleeve that has a photo of the puzzle artwork on the front & information about the artist, Eric Dowdle, on the back. It also comes with a small poster of the puzzle artwork because you will need something to reference while you're putting the puzzle together.

This bundle also comes with a 2016 wall calendar.  Each month shows a different piece of artwork & I found myself with a magnifying glass going over each one because there are so many little fun & unexpected details to discover. The calendar pages are 12"x13" & there is plenty of room to make notes on each day of the month.

Both the puzzle & the calendar are so bright & colorful. The puzzle pieces are sturdy & snap together easily. I was kind of sad when the puzzle was completed but I don't glue my puzzles together for display, so I will put it together over & over again.

Eric Dowdle is an amazing artist & seeing the artwork on the calendar makes me want to own every one of his puzzles!

I received two packages with 5 balloons in each package: red, yellow, white, blue & green. You can feel the little LED light inside of the balloons. To activate the light, hold onto the end of the balloon & pull the tab that says "Pull".

Once the tab is out, you can inflate the balloon by either using helium or just blow it up yourself. Tie the balloon shut & you've got a flashy glowing party balloon.

These balloons flash & change colors & last a really long time. I watched one of them to see how long they would continue glowing & flashing. 30 hours after I blew it up it was still going! It wasn't as bright as it was at first & it had lost some of its air, but it was still glowing & flashing!

This clear glass mug has a nice hefty feeling in my hand, not heavy but just the feeling of a quality product. It should last a long time even though I tend to plop my mugs down on the table, the countertop & in the cabinet. The lettering is bright white which makes it show up really great when there is a dark liquid, like coffee, in the mug. And because the lettering is on both sides of the mug, it doesn't matter if you are left-handed or right-handed. The mug is dishwasher safe & I've washed it several times since I've had it but the lettering still looks like new.

This would be a fun gift to give to a parent, just make sure your siblings are there to see that you are the "favorite child"! Both of my parents have passed, so I'm going to keep this mug for myself to use when my siblings visit. My sister was the goody-two-shoes & my brother was the spoiled baby, so both of them are equally convinced that there were always the favorite. If you have never used a garlic press or think that it is one of those kitchen gadgets that you don't need, think again. I used to believe that it was just another unnecessary tool taking up room in my valuable kitchen drawer space, but I was wrong!

Before I tried a garlic press, if I wanted to use garlic in a recipe, I used to just peel & dice it with a knife. Easy peasy! But then my hands always smelled like garlic. Not so good. But that is not a problem with this Garlic Press from KUKPO.

This is a sturdy press, but not too heavy. It is made of stainless steel so I don’t have to worry about rust. I love the sleek look of this garlic press but the best thing about it is that I don’t even have to peel the garlic before I put it in the press! I really didn’t think it would work but then I tried it with both a peeled & an unpeeled clove. Both of them were minced just the same! All I have to do is throw out the peels & clean the press.

This garlic press is stainless steel so it is dishwasher safe but I just wash it with warm soapy water. I haven’t put mine in the dishwasher yet because I use it too often. I also haven’t tried this press with ginger yet but I’ll be trying that too.

Make icy cold summer treats with these Classic Groove Ice Pop Molds #kitchenne

I love cold treats when the weather gets warm. Oh, who am I kidding....I love cold treats all year long! And I love making my own so I was so excited to get to try these Classic Ice Pop Molds from Kitchenne.

I've tried several different types of ice pop molds but this is the one that I really like. It is a set of 6 BPA-free molds with a tray to keep them standing up straight in your freezer. I love the bright summery colors of this set. I've used these a lot since I've had them & have tried all sorts of different ingredients. These are so easy to use. Just fill them up with your favorite recipe, put the handles into the molds & pop them in the freezer. Once they are frozen, I warm the mold with my hand while I'm pulling the handle. Sometimes I have to run it quickly under some warm water to get it out. It really depends on what you used to make the popsicle. Some come out easier than others.

These photos were my first attempts with these ice pop molds. The pink ones are Strawnana popsicles for the kids and the brown ones are Dirty Pirate Poptails for adults only. These are the recipes that I used to make them:

Strawnana (kid friendly): Put 12 large strawberries, a banana & some juice (I used Sunny D but you can use orange juice, pineapple juice or whatever you like) in a blender. Blend until smooth & pour into the ice pop molds.

Dirty Pirate Poptails (adults only): Pour 2.5 cups Coke, 1/3 cup Captain Morgan Spiced Rum & 1/3 cup Kahlua into a pitcher. Stir to mix & pour into ice pop molds.

Product Review: Flower Girl Headpieces for Weddings #FlowerWreath

We go to a Renaissance Faire in the Spring & we've never dressed up but we see so many people there who wear costumes. One of the things that the girls & women wear are floral headpieces similar to these Flower Girl Headpieces for Weddings.

This is a set of 6 floral headpieces. Each one has 5 different colored Daisy-like flowers & a bunch of leaves attached to a green wire frame. They tie at the back of the head with a shimmery white ribbon so they can be adjusted to fit any head size. Each headpiece came individually wrapped in a plastic package & then the 6 packages were kind of stuffed into one big plastic package so they were a bit squashed when I received them. A couple of leaves fell off of 2 of the headpieces but it's a quick fix with a glue gun. In fact, if you want to make a fuller wreath, you could add more flowers with a glue gun as well.

These headpieces are perfect for a princess or fairy birthday party for your little girl, for the flower girl at a wedding, for wearing to a Renaissance Faire, playing dress-up or as a part of a costume.

I updated my ugly shower with this Aqua Dance 3-Way Combo Showerhead in Chrome/Gray #aquadance

We moved into our house almost 6 years ago & the bathroom was outdated then so it's even more outdated now! A complete remodel has been on our minds & we've done a bit of planning but have been putting it off because.....well, we only have one bathroom. So when we rip out everything from the floor to the ceiling, it's going to take a few days to complete the project. Maybe a whole week....without a bathroom. But when I got the chance to review this Aqua Dance 3-Way Combo Showerhead in Chrome/Gray I couldn't pass it up so at least one thing in our bathroom looks good!

This showerhead is really easy to install. I didn't actually do it myself but hubby took it into the bathroom & came less than 10 minutes later with our old showerhead in his hand & said it was done. He said it was super easy & the plumbers tape is even included in the package. He didn't use the tape because there were no leaks, but it's there in case you need it.

I love having the hand-held along with the fixed showerhead. The hose is long so it will reach far enough down into the tub to wash your child's hair or bathe your pet. I love all of the different settings as well as the ability to use each showerhead individually or use them both at once. We get good water pressure from both heads & I feel like I've got a spa in my bathroom now.

Pruning our plants with the help of these Ratchet Pruning Shears from Ezy Pruners #ezypruners

We had rain for days & days & days earlier this year & our yard was so flooded that we couldn't even go out there! But now the rain has ended, the sunshine has returned & our plants are recovering from being waterlogged. We have several bushes that don't like a lot of water because they are native to Texas, where we live. I cut a few small branches from some of our bushes & the pruners were easy to use. I tried cutting with both my left hand & my right hand to see if there was any difference & I was able to cut branches either way. Then I gave the pruners to my husband because he has more experience using gardening tools. He said that the ratcheting system on these pruners make them very easy to use without exerting as much pressure . In fact, once he started using them he forgot all about the project he had been working on & finished pruning all of our bushes & small trees.

At times, my husband & I both need to use a timer. We have a timer on our stove & we have a timer on our microwave. The stove is the preferred timer because if you don't go turn it off after it buzzes, it will continue to buzz every 30 seconds until you do. The timer on the microwave makes one little buzz & that's it. But now we have the Epica Large Digit Timer and the Epica Large Digit Timer/Stopwatch so we no longer have to rely on our kitchen appliances.

The Epica Large Digit Timer is white with gray sides. It runs on 1 AAA battery which is included in the box. It also comes with a sheet of Operating Instructions. This timer is easy to set to a specific time (up to 99 minutes, 59 seconds) & then push the Start button to count down to zero. And when the alarm sounds, I can hear it from any room in my house! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to hear it if I wasn't in the same room, but it is quite loud. You can also start at zero & push the Start button to act as a stopwatch then push the button again to stop it. The display is large & easy to read & you can set up this timer just about anywhere you need it. It has a fold-out stand, a magnet & a hanging hook. I use this timer just about every day.

The Epica Large Digit Timer/Stopwatch is silver with a black back. It also runs on 1 AAA battery which is included in the box. It also comes with a sheet of Operating Instructions. This time operates the same as the other timer but it has smaller buttons. It also has a loud alarm so I never have to worry that I won't hear it. It also has a large, easy to read display & has a maximum reading of 99 minutes, 59 seconds. This timer also has a fold-out stand & a magnet on the back so that you can use it on multiple surfaces. My husband uses this timer in his backyard work shed & it is attached to the side of a metal cabinet where he can easily see it.
