Product Review: Moose Bay Rum Shaving Soap #mooseshave

When my husband shaves, he uses whatever shaving cream I got on sale. He doesn't care about the brand or the scent because he says they're pretty much all the same. When I shave my legs, I use whatever body wash I just used in the shower. But then we tried this Moose Bay Rum Shaving Soap & now we both know that what you use on your skin to prep for shaving DOES make a difference!

This wonderfully scented shaving soap comes in a 4 ounce round bar. Bay Rum is a combination of bay leaf & cinnamon spice with a hint of citrusy lime. The label says that the scent is "a cult classic from the days of Old Spice". All I know is that it smells great! Some of the ingredients in this shaving soap are Shea Butter, Bentonite Clay, Wheat Germ Oil & Vitamin E.

This shaving soap makes a nice rich lather which helps the razor slide smoothly across our skin, whether its my legs or his face. It rinses off easily & cleanly to leave our skin feeling soft & smooth with just a hint of that wonderful scent  Neither of us has experienced any red bumps or irritation from using this shaving soap. Since we've been using it, we have completely stopped using anything else for shaving.

If you're still using shaving cream or body wash for shaving, you should do yourself a favor & try this wonderful Moose Bay Rum Shaving Soap. Your skin will thank you! And one of the things that I love most about this product is that it is Handmade in the U.S.A.

Product Review: Homemade With Love Plaid Fruit Jam Labels #JamLabels

Receiving a handcrafted gift is so special because you know that someone took time to make something especially for you. I love receiving & giving homemade gifts but gifts from the kitchen are my favorite! These Plaid Fruit Jam Labels are such a perfect addition to a homemade gift of jam or jelly plus they are just so darned cute!

I love the plaid background design of these labels & I think they have a very vintage look. Since I've been buying a lot of fresh spring produce, I have been wanting to learn to make jams & jellies so these cute labels are what finally pushed me to actually get it done. And it's not as hard as I thought it would be!

Product Review: AfterLife Carpet Stain Remover & Odor Eliminator #carpetafterlife

We only have carpet in our living room & hallway but plan on replacing it with hardwood floors some time in the next year. But even when we do, we will still have area rugs & throw rugs so we will always need carpet cleaner. We moved into our house 5 years ago & have not had our carpet professionally cleaned during that time so I've spot cleaned here & there with various results. I'm always looking for a better carpet cleaning product so I was happy to get to test this AfterLife Carpet Stain Remover & Odor Eliminator.

This carpet cleaner is specifically formulated to remove not only the stains but also the odors left on your carpet by your fur kids. Because pets tend to "mark" their territory, they will return to the same spot again & again if the odor is not completely removed. That is what this Carpet Stain Remover & Odor Eliminator will do. But it works great on all carpet stains, not just pet stains.

As with any carpet cleaning product, you first need to do a spot test on your carpet in a place that is not noticeable, like a corner behind the furniture or in a closet. I did a spot test on my carpet & none of the color was removed & my carpet was not damaged in any way. So I was ready to test it on some of the old stains that I have tried to remove with other products. After spraying the stains, I waited 15 minutes per the directions on the bottle. I then soaked up the liquid with paper towels & scrubbed the cleaned area with a scrub brush. I must say that I was impressed! My mystery stain was finally gone. I have now used this product on several stains & my carpet is looking good!

Product Review: Liquid Chalk Markers Bundle w/Chalkboard Labels #DIY

I love liquid chalk markers! The first markers that I bought were white so that I could use them on some chalkboard labels that I had for my kitchen jars. At the time, I didn't even know that you could get any other color besides white. Since then, I've tried a couple of colored liquid chalk markers but take a look at the beautiful colors of these 10 Bright Liquid Chalk Markers from Kitchen Supreme.

First off, these markers are really big! I love that they are so easy to grip & easy to use. See....size does matter! And they come in 10 bright colors so you can find one to use for any project that you have. They will easily mark or draw on glass, chalkboard labels, whiteboards, plastic & any other non-porous surface. Just don't use them on a real chalkboard because they will be permanent!

I don't claim to be an artist at all & my handwriting isn't great either but I used the markers on a piece of poster board to show all of the colors. Of course you can't see the white letter because the poster board is white. But the colors are nice & bright. Depending on which way you hold the marker, you can get a broader or narrower line or you can reverse the tip from chisel tip to bullet tip. And they also come with 8 assorted chalkboard labels plus 2 extra tips.

These markers are really fun to use. And they wipe clean with a damp cloth because the colors are water-based. They wash off of skin easily too with just some soap & water. So let the kids have fun drawing & writing as much as they want & then just wipe it off to start all over again.

Unboxing....Beauty Joy Box May 2015

My Beauty Joy subscription just renewed for June so that tells me that I'm late doing the May unboxing....but better late than never! I received my box about a week ago & really wanted to check it out sooner but I didn't want to rip open the tissue paper until I took photos for this post. So here it is....

Product Review: 100% Authentic Tencel Bed Sheet Set #AuthenticTencelBedSheetSet

There is nothing like the feel of new sheets & getting a new set is one of my favorite things. When I was chosen to review this 100% Authentic Tencel Bed Sheet Set I was excited but had no idea what tencel was so I had to do a bit of research.

I found out that tencel is a natural man-made fiber that is made with wood pulp from sustainable tree farms. These sheets from Yorkshire - Mayfair are made from eucalyptus wood! I usually buy cotton sheets but I really love my new tencel sheets. They feel silky soft & are so lightweight which makes them perfect for sleeping under now that we are experiencing warmer weather.

The color that I received is Sage & it is such a pretty shade of pale green. The Queen set comes with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet & 2 regular pillow cases. The fitted sheet has deep pockets that will fit up to a 16" mattress & the flat sheet has plenty of draping on each side of the bed. I laundered the sheets & pillow cases before I put them on the bed & they came out of the dryer feeling soft with no loose strings. They have been laundered a few more times since but they still look & feel like they are brand new. I look forward to snuggling under these soft cool sheets each night & I am really impressed with this beautiful sheet set!
